I went to the New Kids on the Block concert last Monday. It was so much fun and seeing them really brought back some childhood memories out of me (weird and corny at the same time?). I guess the concert reminded me of a simpler time in life, for me at least, back then I didn't have to worry about the things I see younger students going through now (i.e. gangs, school shootings, drugs, and pregnancies, etc). I guess I just feel really lucky I got to grow up in the 80's when life was just corny, no worries.
The concert was great and I must say, I am so proud of Keem because he was the only guy -out of two- there and lived to tell his tale. Even though he sat texting most of the concert, he was there and that's what matters most. I got the tickets as an anniversary gift-which was the most perfect gift ever-a childhood fantasy come true.
The funny thing is, I've been to my fair share to concerts and have seen things-I cannot unsee, but this one takes the cake for most drunk girls at a single concert (the irony). The entire stadium was literally filled with drunk cougars and tweens! Some girls beside us kept raving about how lucky I am that Keem was there. I swear, I never saw so many drunk girls in one area (Go Sundevils :p ).
The actual concert was really good. They sang all their famous songs and, I must say, didn't look shabby at all. The group really gave it their all and sang there lil hearts out-except for Jon Knight,* man did they put on a show and I'm not just saying this because I'm biased. So, needless to say, this concert did absolutely nothing for my earache, as I'm still deaf, but it was worth it.
*Who knew Jon Knight had an anxiety disorder? That explains why he didn't seem to into it. The more you know...
